    No idea of the name of these things but I really like the minimalist nature of this picture - also liked the abstraction of the previous two days. Good work

    Yes also like the picture.
    They are called patress plates in UK and anchor plates by the colonials

    David, thank you on both counts - and if anyone else is interested the cityofnewbabbage website is worth a look if only to see that there is someone more obsessive than me! all those photographs of patress plates....
